SWIFT Charge Calculator
Compute NPR conversion and all charges with smart rules.
The SWIFT Charge Calculator is a free online banking utility designed to help customers estimate the total charges associated with international SWIFT remittance transactions. Whether you are sending money abroad for education, business, personal, or commercial purposes, this tool provides a quick and accurate estimate of the various fees involved in a SWIFT transfer.
The calculator supports multiple currencies including INR, USD, AUD, GBP, EUR, and JPY, and automatically calculates applicable charges such as SWIFT fees, commission charges, exchange rate margins, student tax charges, and OUR/SHA payment charges. This helps users understand the total cost of their transaction before initiating a remittance.
How to Use the SWIFT Charge Calculator
Using the calculator is simple and takes only a few steps:
Step 1: Enter Transfer Amount
Enter the amount you wish to remit in the selected foreign currency.
Step 2: Select Currency
Choose the currency of your transaction from the available options: INR (Indian Rupee), USD (US Dollar), AUD (Australian Dollar), GBP (British Pound Sterling), EUR (Euro), JPY (Japanese Yen).
Step 3: Enter Exchange Rates
For USD, AUD, GBP, EUR, and JPY transactions, enter Buying Rate and Selling Rate. For INR transactions, exchange rates are automatically handled by the system using the predefined conversion rate.
Step 4: Select Payment Type
Choose the purpose of your remittance: Student or Others. Student transactions may be subject to additional tax calculations according to the applicable charging rules.
Step 5: Select Charge Type
Choose the charge arrangement: OUR – Sender bears all transfer charges, or SHA – Charges are shared between sender and beneficiary. Note: For JPY transactions, only OUR charges are permitted and the SHA option is automatically disabled.
Step 6: Click Calculate
Press the Calculate button to instantly view the estimated charges.
Calculation Results
The calculator displays a detailed breakdown of all applicable charges, including:
- Total Charges – The final amount payable after adding all applicable fees and charges.
- SWIFT Charges – Standard SWIFT messaging and processing fee.
- Commission Charges – Bank commission calculated based on transaction amount and currency-specific rules.
- Exchange Rate Charges – Exchange rate margin calculated from the difference between buying and selling rates.
- Student Tax Charges – Applicable tax for student remittance transactions.
- OUR Charges – Additional charges applied when the sender chooses the OUR payment option.
Important Notice
The charges calculated by this tool are estimates based on predefined rules and assumptions. Actual charges may vary depending on bank policies, correspondent bank fees, regulatory requirements, exchange rate fluctuations, and transaction-specific conditions.
Users are advised to confirm the final charges with their respective bank before initiating any international remittance transaction.
